Are you wondering how this class will go this semester. Well just check out this video clip... You'll get an idea about my philosophy of teaching. Although the focus is on adult learning, I think this approach works also with K-16 students.
Unfortunately, the world of academia isn't made up of those who think this way. You may not feel the need to accept it and...you don't need to. My feeling is that the more I hear from my students the more we all learn. Hey, I want to learn to and what better way than to have ALL of us teach other.
Check out the video below and write some comments on the comment box below. By the way you can set up this blog so that any new posts are automatically sent to you. I'll give you the "how" in another video.
Well enjoy and add comments....
Cute video / short and sweet! I think making videos, even silly ones, allows us teachers to have a bit of "fun" while creating a learning point.
ReplyDeleteI was actually totally wondering so thanks for the video as it put me at ease. :-)
ReplyDeleteDr. Ramirez, I will join you on Thursday. I will download Zoom today. Thanks for the heads up. Have a great conference in central Texas. I'm from Austin so I'm envy your travels. Stay safe. Also, thanks for serving our country!!!!
ReplyDeleteDr. Ramirez, which version of Zoom do I download? I get options....yikes....sorry.
ReplyDeleteGreat video...humor makes learning so much more fun!
ReplyDeleteVery cute video. I mostly group my students, as it helps with reciprocal teaching. With constant lecturing students are passive. They tend to zone the teacher out, therefore my favorite type of teaching model is experiential education. It is very important that the teacher is the facilitator of the course and not "the heavy lifter."
